Google Buzz Launched

Published 22 February 2010 No Comment

Google has launched Google Buzz onto the social media netscape. Described as mix between Facebook and Twitter it requires a user to log on to Gmail to use it or register a Gmail account if they do not have one already.

Google Buzz includes features such as:
Auto-following;
Public and private sharing;
Box integration;
Provide status updates to contacts;
Share video and photos;
Mobile access.

While well received by some, others have described it as an unwanted and unneeded tool that is difficult to disable. Google has received many complaints regarding privacy issues. In particular users are concerned that their personal contacts are being made public without their knowledge and they lack control over who can follow their movements.

Google is now attempting to address these and other issues.
